Women's Basketball Set To Face Millsaps At Home Tuesday
The Centenary women’s basketball team will face the Millsaps Majors on Tuesday in a non-conference game set for 5:30 p.m. at the Gold Dome. The Ladies (0-1) opened their regular season with a 64-57 loss to the Hendrix Warriors in a non-conference game at home back on Nov. 10. Millsaps (2-1) defeated Agnes Scott College on Saturday in its last game. The two schools have met twice per season for home and home contests for the last four seasons with Millsaps winning two of the last three meetings.

Centenary was led in scoring against Hendrix by junior guard Alex Williams (Shreveport), who was making her Centenary debut after transferring from Bossier Parish Community College. Freshman guard Destini Powell (Minden, La.) added 10 points in her collegiate debut and junior guard Jennae Mayberry (Clovis, Calif.) scored eight points and had eight rebounds in her debut with the Ladies after transferring from Santa Barbara City College.The Ladies played strong defense as they forced 24 turnovers and held the Warriors to 26.3 % shooting from three-point range. Centenary also collected 11 steals in the game led by Williams' five.
The Ladies will hit the road for four consecutive games following Tuesday's contest. Centenary will face Mississippi University for Women on Friday, Nov. 22 in Columbus, Miss. At 5:30 p.m. and then meets Belhaven on Saturday, Nov. 23 in Jackson at 2 p.m.
