Ladies Complete First Round Of Season On Monday
The Centenary women's golf team completed its first round of the 2022-23 season on Monday as the Ladies competed in the Tempest Intercollegiate held at the Tempest Golf Club.
Gladewater, Texas – The Centenary women's golf team completed its first round of the 2022-23 season on Monday as the Ladies competed in the Tempest Intercollegiate held at the Tempest Golf Club.
Junior Madison Wing (Bossier City, La.) and freshman Kaylee Roberts (Watonga, Okla.) both played as individuals. Wing shot a 30-over par 102 and is in 43rd place while Roberts, making her collegiate debut, shot a 53-over 125 and is tied for 47th.
Concordia (TX) University is the day one leader after shooting a 23-over par 311 at the par-72, 5851-yard course. The University of Texas at Dallas is in second place and five shots off the lead after carding a 28-over par 316, host LeTourneau University is third (+33 – 321), East Texas Baptist University is fourth at 48-over par 336, and the University of Dallas is fifth (+54 – 342).
Corban University is currently sixth (+72 – 360), Hardin-Simmons University is seventh (+76 – 364), and Texas Lutheran University, is eighth at 78-over 366. Arlington Baptist University, Jacksonville Community College, and McMurry University are also playing with just individuals.
Karen Lee of Texas-Dallas is the day one individual leader after she fired a 3-over par 75 and is one shot ahead of her teammate, Karen Alvarez (4-over 76). Four Concordia golfers are within four shots of the lead.
The second and final round is set for an 8 a.m. start on Tuesday.

Centenary wraps up its fall season with the Crusader Invitational Oct. 24-25 hosted by the University of Dallas at the WinStar Golf Club in Thackerville, Okla.
