Ladies Complete First Tournament Of Season
The Centenary women's golf team wrapped up action in the Tempest Intercollegiate on Tuesday afternoon, as the Ladies completed their first tournament of the 2022-23 season at the Tempest Golf Club.
Gladewater, Texas – The Centenary women's golf team wrapped up action in the Tempest Intercollegiate on Tuesday afternoon, as the Ladies completed their first tournament of the 2022-23 season at the Tempest Golf Club.
Junior Madison Wing (Bossier City, La.) and freshman Kaylee Roberts (Watonga, Okla.) both played as individuals and Wing finished in 45th place at 61-over par 205 while Roberts place 48th at + 107 – 251. Wing shot a final-round 31-over 103 after a 30-over 102 in Monday's opening round. Roberts, who shot a 53-over 125 in round one, followed that with a 54-over 126 on Tuesday.
Concordia (TX) University won the tournament after shooting a 44-over par 620 to finish two shots ahead of the University of Texas at Dallas (46-over 622). Karen Alvarez of UT-Dallas won the individual title after shooting an 8-over par 152 to finish one shot ahead of her teammate Karen Lee (+9 – 153).
The host school, LeTourneau University, finished in third place at +60 – 636, East Texas Baptist University was fourth at +96 – 672, the University of Dallas finished fifth (+102 – 678), Texas Lutheran University placed sixth (127-over par 703), Corban University finished seventh (+133 – 709), and Hardin-Simmons University finished eighth after shooting a +145 – 721.
Arlington Baptist University, Jacksonville Community College, and McMurry University also played just individuals like the Ladies. Four Concordia golfers finished in the top 10, helping lead the Tornados to the victory.

Centenary wraps up its fall season with the Crusader Invitational Oct. 24-25 hosted by the University of Dallas at the WinStar Golf Club in Thackerville, Okla.
