Lacrosse Drops Season Opener To Rhodes

The 2025 Centenary lacrosse team lost its season opener 24-7 to the Rhodes College Lynx on Sunday afternoon n a non-conference contest at Crain Field.

Memphis, Tenn. – The 2025 Centenary lacrosse team lost its season opener 24-7 to the Rhodes College Lynx on Sunday afternoon in a non-conference contest at Crain Field.

The Gents (0-1) trailed 5-4 after the first quarter, but the Lynx (2-1) outscored the Maroon and White 7-1 in the second period to take a 12-5 lead at halftime and outscored the Gents 12-2 in the second half to cruise to the win.

Rhodes finished with a 76-24 advantage in shots, 57-22 in ground balls, finished 17-18 on clears, and won 27 of 32 face offs. Centenary turned the ball over 24 times while Rhodes gave it away 13 times.

Freshman A Gamble Harvill (Bossier City, La.) led the Gents with three goals and senior M Jordan Cook (Bryant, Ark.) had two. Sophomore A Gibson Harvill (Bossier, City, La.) and freshman D Carter Romero (Lafayette, La.) each scored one. Cook, sophomore M Ethan Hewett (Bossier City, La.), and senior A G'Colby Spivey (Dallas, Texas) each had one assist. Senior Dylan Miller (Shreveport, La.) had 21 saves and played all 60 minutes.

Rhodes played four goalies that combined to make 10 saves and 15 different players scored at least one goal while six players scored multiple goals.

Centenary returns to action on Feb. 21 at LaGrange College.
