Record Breaker: Shyanne Phillips Makes History In Rookie Season
Freshman F Shyanne Phillips (Leesville, La.) became the all-time program leader in rebounding average (12.0) for a season with a pair of double-digit rebounding performances last weekend as the sensational rookie capped her season with 14 rebounds in each game at Austin College and the University of Dallas.

Phillips stands alone above all other players whether division I or division III in the category, surpassing the previous mark of 11.7 rebounds per game held by Elinor Griffin in the 1981-82 season. Phillips reached double figures in scoring 14 times this season, had 13 double-doubles, and recorded 14 double-digit rebounding performances.
She was the second-leading rebounder in the conference and ranked in the top 10 in scoring (14.1 PPG) and was the Ladies' season leader in both categories. She scored 20+ points three times, shot 43.6 % from the floor, 73.3 % from the free-throw line, and was in the top 15 in the conference in blocked shots, FT %, and FG %. Her 13 double-doubles were tied for 20th nationally and she was 14th in the country in rebounding.
Eleven of her 14 double-digit scoring performances came in conference play and 10 of her 14 double-digit rebounding games were in league contests. Phillips had games of 18, 19, and 20 rebounds which are all in the top-10 all-time in program history (D1 or D3). She finished the season with 277 rebounds which are the second-most in a single season in the division III era (2012-present) in program history and she scored 324 points which rank 10th in D3 era.
