The Centenary women's basketball team will finish its season this weekend on the road with a pair of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference contests beginning on Friday with a matchup against the Austin College ‘Roos set for 6 p.m. inside Hughey Gym.

The Ladies (2-20, 1-13 SCAC) aim to snap an 11-game losing streak and are in search of their first win since defeating the University of Dallas at home on Jan. 12 and are 1-8 on the road this season. The 'Roos (7-15, 3-11 SCAC) are also in the midst of a long losing streak as they have dropped 10 games in a row and are 3-7 at home this season. Austin College has ironically not won since defeating the Ladies 75-48 on Jan. 14 in Shreveport.
The Ladies are averaging 53.6 PPG, shooting 31.9 % from the floor, 17.3 % from beyond the arc, 68.9 % from the free-throw line, and average 37.9 rebounds/game.

Scoring: Freshman F Shyanne Phillips (Leesville, La.) – 13.9 PPG
Rebounding: Phillips – 11.9 RPG
Assists: Freshman G Nevaeh Rivera (Rosepine, La.) – 2.2/game
Blocks: Phillips – 0.6/game
Steals: Rivera – 2.8/game
Phillips has had a fantastic rookie season as she is the team leader in both scoring and rebounding and is the conference's second-leading rebounder. She has reached double figures 12 times this season, has 11 double-doubles, and 12 double-digit rebounding performances. She is shooting 44.0 % from the floor, 76.4 % from the FT line, and has scored 20+ points three times. Phillips ranks ninth in the conference in scoring, tied for 10th in blocked shots, and is 12th in both FT % and FG %. She ranks 14th nationally in rebounds per game and her 11 double-doubles are tied for 29th nationally. Her 291 points this season rank 10th in the division III era (2012-present) in program history and her 249 rebounds are the third-most in a single season in the D3 era.
Rivera, the conference leader in steals and tied for 63rd nationally in the category, is second on the team in scoring (10.2 PPG) and averages 3.8 rebounds/game along with being the team leader in assists per game (2.2). She has scored in double figures nine time this season and scored 20+ three times as she is 22nd in the conference in scoring.
Junior F Layla Powell (Fort Worth, Texas) averages 7.9 PPG, has reached double figures nine times and shoots a strong 74.0 % from the free-throw line and is 15th in steals/game (1.5).
Scouting the 'Roos:
Sophomore G Lexi Martin leads Austin College in scoring at 10.4 PPG and junior F Brooklyn Matthews is right behind her (9.2 PPG) and leads the team in rebounding (7.3), good for seventh in the conference.
Sophomore G Avory Miller (3.2 assists/game) is tied for eighth in the league in the category. Miller also averages 8.1 PPG, Trinity Williams is averaging 7.1 and Raylee McDonald 7.0.
