Ladies Set To Host Dallas Christian College On Senior Night
The Centenary volleyball team will face the Dallas Christian College Crusaders on Wednesday evening in its final regular season home match as the Ladies celebrate Senior night prior to the non-conference match set for 6 p.m. at the Gold Dome.

The Ladies (14-18) swept the Mississippi University for Women Owls on Saturday afternoon in a home non-conference doubleheader and the Maroon and White improved to an impressive 8-2 at home this season which includes a remarkable seven sweeps. The Crusaders enter Wednesday's match with a 12-9 record. The Ladies and Crusaders met earlier this season as Centenary recorded a 3-1 victory on Sept. 24 in Dallas.
Centenary enters Wednesday's home finale riding a three-game winning streak after Saturday's sweep of the Owls which was preceded by a sweep over the Jarvis Christian College Bulldogs in Hawkins, Texas last Wednesday. The Ladies are 12-8 against non-conference competition this season.
The Ladies won the first match on Saturday versus the Owls by scores of 25-17/25-16/25-17 and then took the second match, 25-13, 25-20, and 25-19. Centenary recorded 43 digs, 41 kills, 38 assists, and 10 aces in the first match and 53 digs, 43 kills 41 assists, and seven aces in the second match.
Senior S Marichael Clarin-Jante (Houston, Texas) tallied 57 assists for the day with 17 digs, seven aces and six kills. Sophomore DS/L Jaycie Proctor (Paris, Texas) recorded 20 digs, four aces, and an assist. Freshman RS Jaylin St. Martin (New Orleans, La.) posted 11 kills, six digs, an ace, and an assist. Sophomore MB/OH Robin Lemelle (Liberty, Texas) tallied 11 digs, 8 kills, and an assist.
Freshman OH/DS Kiara Liedy (Sugar Land, Texas) finished the day with eight digs, eight kills, senior MB Elizabeth Epley (Nashville, Tenn.) posted 12 kills and a dig and sophomore S Regan Griffin (Arlington, Texas) had a big day with 17 assists and a kill. Senior OH Lauren Kelley (Fort Worth, Texas) added eight kills, and a pair of digs. Freshman RS Aubrey Salazar (San Antonio, Texas) had an impressive day with 16 kills and two digs. Sophomore DS/L Tori Ligman (Bossier City, La.) tallied 20 digs, an ace, and an assist.
A pair of rookies, MB/OH McKayla Merrow (Shreveport) and Elizabeth Canady (League City, Texas) combined for seven kills and two digs. Freshman Alex McQuat (Lafayette, La.) posted five kills, four digs, an ace, and an assist.
Clarin-Jante is second in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference this season in assists with 615 and has 243 digs, fourth on the team, and leads the ladies with an impressive 26 aces and has a .163 hitting percentage. Proctor is enjoying a superb sophomore season as she is seventh in the league in digs with 329 and leads the team and has 52 assists and 14 aces this season. St. Martin has turned in a fantastic freshman season as she has amassed 214 kills, 145 digs, 16 assists, nine aces, and has a .147 hitting percentage.
The Ladies' seniors that will be honored prior to Wednesday's match are Clarin-Jante, Epley, Kelley, former player and current student assistant Annalee Mathews, and a pair of standouts who are injured for the remainder of the season in Alyssa Davis (Leonard, Texas) and Rachel Demerjian (Glendora, Calif.).
