The Centenary Ladies volleyball team finally makes its home debut on Saturday as the Maroon and White face the Williams Baptist University Eagles in a non-conference doubleheader set for 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Gold Dome.

The Ladies (3-6) fell 3-1 to the Grambling State University Lady Tigers in a non-conference match on Tuesday evening. Centenary went 3-5 on its opening weekend as the Ladies split their roster up and participated in both the Lyon College Highlander Invitational in Batesville, Ark. and the Millsaps/Belhaven Invitational in Jackson, Miss.
The Eagles (0-8) lost to Blue Mountain College, 3-0, on the road Friday in their most recent action. Centenary and Williams Baptist are meeting for the third time but for the first time since the 2016 season. The Eagles are 2-0 all time versus the Ladies having also won a match back in 2013.
Grambling took set one by a score of 25-21 on Wednesday and then the Ladies responded with a 25-22 win in set two to even the match. The Lady Tigers claimed set three, 25-21, and then won set four by a count of 25-23 to clinch the match.
Freshman RS Jaylin St. Martin (New Orleans, La.) had a big night for the Ladies as the rookie posted a team-high 13 kills and added 10 digs. Sophomore DS/L Jaycie Proctor (Paris, Texas) continued her solid play as she led the Ladies with 14 digs and added two assists. Proctor entered the match second on the team with 59 digs recorded last weekend and is now second on the team with 73. Senior OH Alyssa Davis (Van Alstyne, Texas) tallied 10 kills, four digs, three assists, and one ace.
Junior MB Liz Lowe (San Antonio, Texas) had 11 kills, two digs, and an assist. Senior DS/L Marichael Clarin-Jante (Houston, Texas) finished with 31 assists, four digs, and three kills. The Ladies finished the match with 46 kills and 44 digs and added 42 assists.
Davis is the team leader in digs with 77, Proctor second with 73, and sophomore DS/L Tori Ligman (Bossier City, La.) has 63. Davis is also the leader in kills with 67, St. Martin ranks second with 58, and Lowe is third with 40. Clarin-Jante is the team leader in assists with 136 and junior DS Mariah Martinez (San Antonio, Texas) has eight services aces to lead the Ladies while Lowe is right behind her with seven.
Centenary remains at home for three consecutive matches after Saturday, facing Jarvis Christian on Wednesday, Sept. 15 at 6 p.m., Grambling in a rematch from last week on Tuesday, Sept. 21 at 6 p.m. and then Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. versus Louisiana College.
