Preston Ludwick Named Assistant Director Of Strategic Communications
Preston Ludwick has been named Assistant Director of Strategic Communications, Director of Athletics and Recreation David Orr announced.
Shreveport – Preston Ludwick has been named Assistant Director of Strategic Communications, Director of Athletics and Recreation David Orr announced.
Ludwick, a former standout baseball player for Centenary, began his full-time role in the Athletics Department on March 1. He received his MBA in Business on May 6. He graduated in May of 2021 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, and a Minor in Biology.
Preston is an exceptional addition to the Centenary Athletics' team," said Orr. Preston carried himself as a professional the first day we met, when he was a student-athlete. His dedication to his craft, to his college and our student-athletes has always been exceptional. I always believed Preston should be working in athletic administration and I am so very thankful he's chosen to begin his professional career at Centenary."
Ludwick, a native of Plano, Texas who grew up in Pflugerville, finished his career in 2022 as one of the top players in the history of the program in the division III era (2012-present). He was a two-time All-Region selection, a three-time First-Team All-Conference selection, was named the 2021 SCAC Pitcher of the Year, and was a two-time LSWA All-Louisiana selection.
He reached three individual milestones during his senior season - 200 hits, 150 RBI, and 150 strikeouts on the mound, as he helped lead Centenary to a conference championship and an NCAA Tournament appearance. Ludwick became just the fourth player in the current DIII era to record 200 or more hits in a career and also became the 46th SCAC baseball player to reach the milestone. Ludwick ranks in the top five all-time in 17 statistical categories – both hitting and pitching, and in the top 10 in two more.
Ludwick assists Associate AD/Strategic Communications Patrick Meehan with the promotion and support of Centenary's 21 current men's and women's athletic teams.
