Shreveport – Sophomore Olivia Williams (Cape Coral, Fla.) is this week's recipient of the Coaches' Choice Award, the Midwest Independent Conference announced on Wednesday.
Williams earned one of the four individual honors that the conference chooses on a weekly basis and received it for the first time in her young career. Williams set a new career high on bars (9.40) and tied her season high on floor (9.625) on Saturday in a quad meet against host University of Bridgeport, West Chester University, and Cornell University in Bridgeport, Conn.
The Ladies tallied a season-high team score of 185.725 on Saturday as they posted a season-best 47.275 on vault and a season-high score on floor (47.475). The Ladies also finished with a 45.650 on beam and a 45.325 on bars. Centenary also made it home debut last Monday and finished third in a tri-meet on versus SEMO (Southeast Missouri State University) and West Chester University and posted a team score of 185.325 as Williams was the Ladies' top finisher on floor with an impressive 9.625 to tie for eighth.
The Ladies are back in action on Friday night against Greenville University (6 p.m.) which will be "Youth Night" in the Gold Dome.
