Anna Ichiba Receives MIC Coaches' Choice Award

Shreveport – Sophomore Anna Ichiba (Murphy, Texas) is this week's recipient of the Coaches' Choice Award, the Midwest Independent Conference announced on Wednesday.
Ichiba earned one of the four individual honors that the conference chooses on a weekly basis and received it for the first in her career and was named a co-winner with SEMO's Jordan Napolitano.
Ichiba finished third on vault with a career high 9.625, fourth on beam with a 9.70, and was seventh on floor with a career-best 9.575 in the Ladies' home victory last Friday over the Greenville University Panthers. The Ladies posted a season-high team score of 190.100, their best since a 192.175 on Senior Night last season against Fisk University.
The honor was the second of the season for Ichiba after she earned the MIC Performance of the Week honor following her win on beam with a season and career-high 9.80 against Illinois State University on Jan. 18.
The Ladies are back home on Sunday against Texas Woman's University (1 PM) in the Gold Dome.
