Ladies Wrap Up Alaska Trip On Sunday
The Centenary gymnastics team posted a team score of 187.675 on Sunday afternoon to finish second against the host University of Alaska Anchorage Seawolves in a non-conference dual meet inside the Alaska Airlines Center.
Anchorage, Alaska – The Centenary gymnastics team posted a team score of 187.675 on Sunday afternoon to finish second against the host University of Alaska Anchorage Seawolves in a non-conference dual meet inside the Alaska Airlines Center.
The Seawolves won the meet with a team score of 191.650. The teams were meeting for the second time during the weekend after they first squared off on Friday night as Centenary posted a 188.125 team score and Alaska Anchorage won the meet with a team score of 192.125. This weekend marked the Ladies' first visit to Anchorage since the 2022 season.
Centenary's best event score on Sunday came on vault (47.625) followed by a 47.425 on beam, a 46.300 on floor and a 46.275 on bars. Sophomore Skyla Cruz (El Paso, Texas) finished second on beam with a 9.75 and sophomore Chloe Gilbert (Pflugerville, Texas) had a season-high 9.70 to tie for third. Senior Amy Foret (Bedford, Texas) finished seventh in beam with a strong 9.65.
Foret and junior Olivia Williams (Cape Coral, Fla.) tied for third on floor (9.575) and senior Olivia Stratmann (Houston, Texas) had a season-high 9.525 on bars to finish third. Sophomore Erin Pinder (Bridgetown Barbados) tied her season-high on bars (9.40) to finish sixth.
Sophomore Anna Ichiba (Murphy, Texas) led the way on vault for the Ladies with a 9.60 to finish fifth while Foret tied for sixth (9.55). Sophomore Peyton Burford (West Monroe, La.) and sophomore Olivia Montgomery (Willard, Mo.) tied for ninth place (9.50) as Montgomery tied her season high.
