Ladies Set For Annual MIC Championships On Friday

The Ladies will be joined by host Illinois State University, Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO), and Texas Woman's University. Centenary finished fourth in the MIC Championship last season in Shreveport as the Ladies served as host for the first time since 2019.
Illinois State, a division 1 program, enters the meet ranked 56th nationally in the latest Road to Nationals rankings, TWU, a division II school, is 45th, SEMO (D1) is 50th, and the Ladies are 79th.
Centenary's three seniors each earned prestigious individual postseason awards at the pre-championship banquet on Thursday evening.
Senior Claire Flores (Oklahoma City, Okla.) was co-recipient of the Sylvia Keiter Award with Bailey Upton of Texas Woman's University, senior Amy Foret (Bedford, Texas) was named Senior Athlete of the Year, and senior Olivia Stratmann (Houston, Texas) was named MIC Woman of the Year.
LAST TIME OUT: The Ladies posted a 188.750 team score on Sunday to finish second in a non-conference dual meet against Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Amy Foret and junior Olivia Williams (Cape Coral, Fla.) earned the Ladies' top scores of the meet as they tied for fourth on floor at 9.80 – a new career high for Williams and a season-best for Foret.
Sophomore Anna Ichiba (Murphy, Texas) had the Ladies' best finish on beam with an impressive 9.725 – her second-highest score of the season in the event. Foret and sophomore Peyton Burford (West Monroe, La.) tied for fourth on vault (9.525), sophomore Olivia Montgomery (Willard, Mo.) tied for seventh with a 9.475 and Claire Flores was ninth with a 9.45.
Flores was also eighth on bars (9.45) and tied for eighth on floor (9.625). Sophomore Erin Pinder (Bridgetown Barbados) had a season-high 9.575 on bars to finish sixth and lead the Ladies in the event and freshman Leila Dunlavy (Twin Falls, Idaho) had a 9.50 to finish seventh.
Freshman Riley Navarro (Boiling Springs, Pa.) was sixth on beam (9.575) and Chloe Gilbert (Pflugerville, Texas) and junior Hayden Cagle (Austin, Texas) tied for seventh (9.55) as Cagle's score was a season best for her. Junior Brooke Murdock (Garland, Texas) finished 10th on floor (9.575) and Burford was 11th with a season and career-high 9.50.
Four Ladies were the recipient of the Coaches' Choice Award, one of the four individual honors that the conference chooses on a weekly basis, this season:
