SHREVEPORT, La. - After concluding the regular season on Saturday evening at the Gold, the Centenary basketball team turn their attention to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships Friday, Feb. 22 through Sunday, Feb. 24 at Austin College.
Both squads open play on Friday at Hughey Gymnasium. The Ladies open the tournament as the fourth seed and face fifth-seeded Dallas at 1 p.m. The Gents enter the tournament as the fifth seed and will meet the fourth-seed Pirates of Southwestern at 5 p.m. Winners of both contests move on to face top seeded Trinity on Saturday.
This marks the fourth meeting between the Ladies and Dallas this season with the Maroon and White holding a 2-1 advantage despite dropping the last outing 86-83 in the Gold Dome on Jan. 19. In the three previous meetings, both squads have accumulated 224 points.
Friday's contest for the Gents also marks the fourth affair between the two squads. The Gents have taken all three meetings this season outscoring the Black and Gold by a combined 51 points an average of 17 points per game.
