The Gents (9-0) remained undefeated after a 28-1 victory over Spalding University on Saturday as they recorded their largest margin of victory in program history on Senior Day. Centenary is now 5-0 at home this season.
The Owls (2-3) lost 16-9 at Rhodes College on Sunday and are 1-2 on the road. Keene State College is a fellow division III school located in Keene, N.H. Tuesday marks the first meeting between the Gents and Owls.
The Gents have now scored a whopping 204 goals this season and are averaging 22.67 per game. The Maroon and White have scored at least 13 in all nine games and 20 or more seven times. Centenary has led the country in nearly all offensive categories this season and entered play last weekend first in goals scored, assists, points, and Face-Off Winning % and were top 12 in in clearing % and ground balls.
Sophomore A Gamble Harvill (Bossier City, La.) leads the team and country in goals with 61, sophomore A Noah Walsh (Mount Prospect, Ill.) is next with 41 and has a team and country-leading 64 assists, and junior M Ethan Hewett (Bossier City, La.) has scored 32 goals and has 15 assists. Freshman O/MF Aiden McQuat (Lafayette, La.) has scored 23 goals and tallied 13 assists and sophomore MF Cooper Harris (Lexington, Ky.) has 10 goals and six assists.
Freshman FO Gavin Ferrington (Bossier City, La.) leads the country in Face-Off Winning % (.904) and the rookie also ranks in the top 10 in ground balls/game and total ground balls. Ferrington has scored nine goals and has a pair of assists with a team-high 87 ground balls.
Freshman MF Andrew Hayden (Bryant, Ark.) has seven goals and four assists, sophomore MF Travis Davis (Shreveport, La.) has four goals, and sophomore D Carter Romero (Lafayette, La.) and junior MF Dominic Ogier (St. Louis, Mo.) have each scored two. Senior M Xavier Nixon (Dallas, Texas) scored his first goal of the season on Saturday against Spalding and freshman LSM/MF Zane Wyss (Shreveport, La.) has one goal. Freshman GK Jake Huff (Carlisle, Mass.) has started all nine games and has 65 saves.
Hayden ranks second on the team in ground balls with 28, freshman FO/MF Sean Nadler (Shreveport, La.) has 23, Harvill, Harris, and Walsh each have 19, Hewett has 18, Romero 15, and McQuat and sophomore D Landon Mosley (Shreveport, La.) each have 10. Freshman D Grant McGuire (Benton, Ark.) leads the team in caused turnovers (15), Hewett is next with 10, and Mosley has nine.
