SERIES HISTORY: Centenary and LaGrange will meet for the fourth time with the Panthers winning the two first meetings in 2020 and 2023 and the Gents winning the most recent game - 13-10 last season in LaGrange, Ga.
Season Outlook, Schedule, Coaching Staff & A Look Back at Last Season:
The Gents, led by sixth-year head coach Billy LeClair, are set for 14 games this season – seven at home and seven road/neutral contests. Centenary will play Rhodes College on April 11 in its home finale and finish the regular season at Colorado College on April 15. The Gents' roster features nine returners and 17 newcomers.
Garrett Faktor was promoted to Offensive Coordinator and a full-time assistant coach for the Gents in October as he enters his third season with the program in 2026. Faktor was part of the Gents' 2024 season as a volunteer assistant coach and last season, he guided the Gents to their best offensive season in program history as the Maroon and White scored 161 goals, averaging 14.6 goals per game, and added 90 assists for 251 total points.
Steve Martino enters his second season as assistant coach for the Gents and also serves as the defensive coordinator and Kaleb Coates enters his first season as a volunteer assistant for the Gents. Coates, a graduate student, played 38 games and made 31 starts for the Gents from 2022-25, and served as captain his senior season. Jena Roberts enters her fourth season serving as the Gents' Strength and Conditioning Coach.
The Gents will have two home games in the month of February - Hendrix College on Feb. 7 and Huntingdon College on Feb. 21, and play three-straight home games in March – Heidelberg (March 11), Spalding University (March 14), and Keene State (March 17). Centenary will hold its annual Senior Day on March 14 against Spalding. The contest against Rhodes will be the Gents' lone home date in April.
Centenary's road/neutral site opponents will consist of Warren Wilson College (Feb. 14), Brevard College (Feb. 15), Augustana College (March 6), Cornell College (March 7), Trine University (March 20), Hanover College (March 21), and Colorado College.
Centenary finished its season at 5-6 and flexed its offensive muscles all season long as the Maroon and White scored 161 goals, averaging 14.6 goals per game, and added 90 assists for 251 total points. The Gents capped their 2025 season with a flourish with a 27-9 victory over Northland College on Senior Day at Atkins Field.
Sophomore A Gamble Harvill (Bossier City, La.) scored a team-leading 38 goals to set a new single-season program record and scored eight in the win over Northland. Junior M Ethan Hewett (Bossier City, La.) tied for third place on the team with 28 goals, and junior A Gibson Harvill (Bossier, City, La.) was fifth with 26. Gibson Harvill matched his younger brother with eight goals of his own on in the regular-season finale, Hewett had two, and sophomore MF Travis Davis (Shreveport, La.) scored one.
The Harvill-Harvill combo headlines the returnees along with Hewett, Davis, sophomore D Landon Mosley (Shreveport, La.), senior MF Chris Masterson (Zachary, La.), senior M Xavier Nixon (Dallas, Texas), sophomore D Carter Romero (Lafayette, La.), junior MF Dominic Ogier (St. Louis, Mo.), and junior D Thomas Jordan (Dallas, Texas). Ogier did not play last season but is back after he played in 13 games in 2024 and made seven starts and recorded a team-best 16 assists. He also scored three goals and had four games with multiple assists highlighted by a season-best six in a 16-2 win at Spalding.
Gamble Harvill added six assists (sixth on team) for a total of 44 points (third on team) and posted nine multi-goal games and one game with a pair of assists. He had two or more goals in the first four games of the season, recorded five goals in a game three times, one game with four goals, a pair of hat tricks, along with his whopping eight in the regular-season finale.
Hewett tallied 10 assists (fourth on team) for a total of 38 points (fifth on team) to go with 28 goals. He recorded eight multi-goal games and did so in four-straight games and in six of seven games to end the season. Hewett scored a season-high five goals in a 24-11 win at Wilmington and scored four goals three times and had a pair of hat tricks.
Gibson Harvill added 14 assists (third on team) for a total of 40 points (fourth on team) and posted six multi-goal games and four games with multiple assists. He tallied a season-high three assists in a game twice- at Huntingdon and versus Point University, and also had a pair of four-goal games, one game with three goals, and the monster game with eight goals in the season finale.
"This season, we are excited to see how we do throughout the spring," said LeClair.
"This team has grown tremendously throughout the off-season and we as a coaching staff believe this will be a good year. With a solid mix of returners and newcomers, this team will be playing fast and physical."
"We have some quality opponents to kick off the season that will be great tests for us. Opening with two home games is always a plus. The team is ecstatic to play for the school and our community."
