Denton, Texas - The Centenary College STUNT team will compete in the Texas Woman's University Tournament this weekend as the Ladies will play a total of three games over two days beginning on Friday inside Kitty Magee Arena.
The Ladies will face the host Pioneers, a division II school in their fourth season as a program on Friday at 1:10 p.m. and wrap up the day with a contest versus St. Edwards University, a division II program in its first season. The contest against the Pioneers on Friday will be live streamed at this link: https://www.flocollege.com/signup?redirect=%2Flive%2F156548
"On our first day in Texas, the Ladies will see some great talent from the Texas Woman's STUNT team," said Centenary head coach Kaylee King. They have experience behind them and will be a great team to which we can compare our skills. Following TWU, we will face off against St. Edwards University, which is a brand-new STUNT team like us. They have a similar playing style and number of routines. This will allow us to play more like skills and give us a chance to showcase what we have been working to clean all week."
Centenary will play third-year STUNT team and national qualifier St. Mary's University from San Antonio, Texas on Saturday at 9 a.m. in its final contest of the weekend.
"Saturday morning will be a tough game for us. The Rattlers bring experience not only in the game of STUNT but also have the competitive edge of having seen the national floor before. All we can do is play our game and work to be as clean as possible for us and play our game."
"Heading into this weekend, the team is less focused on our competitors and more focused on playing their own game to the best of their ability. They have things they want to improve upon from the previous weekend and personal goals they'd like to achieve. Points on the board are a bonus, but continuing to play high-caliber teams makes it hard to reflect those improvements on the scoreboard. But there is more to the game than just points and this group of Ladies is working hard and laying an outstanding foundation for the program as it continues to build in the coming years."
