Crowder Ties For Fifth To Lead Ladies To Fourth-Place Finish At Linda Lowery Invitational

The Ladies shot a 56-over par 344 in Tuesday's final round which was preceded by a 38-over par 326 in the opening round on Monday. East Texas Baptist University, the day one leader, won the team title as the Tigers shot a 54-over par 630 (308-322) to finish five strokes ahead of second-place LeTourneau University (+59 – 635). Kinley Pessel of LETU claimed the individual title as she shot an 8-over par 152 (76-76) to finish two shots ahead of ETBU's Rylee Beard (10-over par 154).
Sophomore Haylee Crowder (Haughton, La.) led the way for the Ladies as she earned a tie for fifth place after shooting a 14-over par 158. She shot a career-low 77 in round one and followed that with a 9-over par 81. Crowder has now tied for fifth place twice this season after doing so at the SCAC Fall Preview in October, which was the first top-five finish of her career. She now owns three top-10 finishes and nine top-20 finishes.
Freshman Gracie Evans (Lake Charles, La.) finished in a tie for 20th place at 23-over par 167 (81-86) and sophomore Amber Shaw (Hughes Springs, Texas) finished at 27-over par 171 (86-85) to tie for 25th place. Evans' 81 in the first round was her lowest round of the season.
Junior Jordyn Templeton (Columbus, Texas) finished 33rd at 33-over par 177 (85-92) as her 85 was a career-low round and freshman Zoe Garcia (Magnolia, Texas) shot an 84-over par 228 (115-113) to finish 46th. Junior Mya Thompson (South Jordan, Utah) shot an 11-over 83 in round one but withdrew on Tuesday and did not record a final score.
The University of St. Thomas finished third at 73-over par 649 (327-322) and 21 shots ahead of the Ladies, Schreiner University finished fifth and four shots behind Centenary, the host Tornados finished sixth, McMurry University was seventh and Hendrix College eighth.
NEXT UP: The Ladies will compete in the 2026 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships April 19-21 in Westworth Village, Texas at Hawks Creek Country Club with the University of Dallas as the host school.
