Centenary Athletics Announces Portion of 2021 Schedule
Centenary athletics announced a portion of its spring schedule after the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference finalized the conference-wide schedule for its nine member schools on Monday.

Due to the postponement and rescheduling of all fall and winter sports as a results of issues and concerns related to COVID-19, each of the Ladies' and Gents varsity sports and one club sport (men's club volleyball) will compete in the spring of 2021. Centenary will also debut its cheer and dance teams in the spring. The month of February will feature men's and women's soccer and volleyball. The month of March will feature those sports along with baseball and softball.
The men's soccer team will play four home matches and four road matches while the women's soccer team will play four home matches and three road matches. The Gents will host the SCAC men's soccer championship at Mayo Field on April 23 and 25. Four teams will compete in the event with the two semifinal matches held on Friday, April 23 and the championship contest on Sunday, April 25.
The SCAC quarterfinals of the women's soccer championship will be held on Saturday, April 17 at the site of the conference's top seed. The semifinals will be held on Friday, April 23 in Seguin, Texas hosted by Texas Lutheran University with the championship contest set for Sunday, April 25.
The Ladies volleyball team will host five conference opponents on March 6 and 7 for their only home weekend of the season. Centenary will face Schreiner, Trinity, and Southwestern in the event. Ten total matches will be played. The Ladies begin the season in a tri-match hosted by Dallas on Saturday, Feb. 28 as the Maroon and White face the host Crusaders along with Austin College. The regular season ends April 2-3 with a two-day tournament hosted by Texas Lutheran. The SCAC volleyball tournament will be hosted by Trinity University on April 16 and 17 in san Antonio, Texas.
The Centenary baseball team will begin its season the weekend of March 19-21 as the Diamond Gents face Austin College on the road. The Gents are at home the following weekend (March 26-28) to face Schreiner at Shehee Stadium. Centenary closes the regular season at home against Texas Lutheran the weekend of April 30-May 2. The SCAC Baseball Tournament will be held at the Depot at Cleburne Station in Cleburne, Texas May 7-9.
The Centenary softball team begins its season March 6-7 at home against Austin College and after a week off, the Ladies welcome St. Thomas to town on March 20 and 21 for a three-game series. The Ladies are at Dallas March 27 and 28 for their first conference road series. Centenary closes the regular season at Schreiner April 24 and 25. The SCAC Softball Tournament will be hosted by Schreiner in Kerrville, Texas April 30-May 2. The top six teams in the regular season standings qualify for the double –elimination event.
The schedules for men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's golf, gymnastics, lacrosse, men's and women's swimming and diving, and men's and women's track and field will be released soon once finalized. Gymnastics and men's and women's basketball are likely to begin in early to mid-January. The remaining sports will compete from February through May.
