SHREVEPORT-Centenary men's basketball coach Greg Gary has announced the hiring of Mark Richmond. Richmond will be the third assistant on the Gents staff, joining first assistant Kim Lewis, formerly at Duquesne, and second assistant Adam Walsh, who was with Centenary last season.
Richmond served as the head manager at West Virginia under both current coach Bob Huggins and former coach, and current Michigan head coach, John Beilein.
"I am excited to have Mark join our staff," said Gary. "He has worked under a couple of guys (Huggins and Beilein) that are great teachers of the game, who have also been very successful in this business. He is very well-rounded in what he brings to the table, which includes great basketball knowledge and a tireless work ethic."
Richmond is expected to assume his new position with Centenary shortly.
