FORT WAYNE, Ind.-The Centenary men's basketball team looks to rebound, both figuratively and literally, when it faces Summit League newcomer IPFW on Saturday in Fort Wayne, Ind. The Gents were badly out-rebounded in their last contest and hope to improve upon their output in that category while also looking to bounce back from a five-game losing streak.
Centenary (7-9, 1-3 Summit) will be taking on a team in a similar position as the Gents. IPFW (5-11, 2-3 Summit) won its first two conference games ever over UMKC and Southern Utah but since has lost seven of eight and five straight games overall.
The two teams appear to be evenly matched on paper with both the Gents and Mastodons shooting, rebounding, and turning the ball over nearly the same on average.
The Gents and Mastodons have met twice in the past with both games coming in the 2002-03 season. Centenary won the first game 76-61 in Shreveport before IPFW dismissed the Gents 90-76 in Fort Wayne.
Tip time is 7 p.m. eastern and the game can be heard over KSCL 91.3 FM or www.GoCentenary.com.
