MONROE, La. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference recently sat down with Centenary basketball to preview the 2016-17 season.
For the Ladies, the conference talked to first-year head coach David Foley and sophomore Jasmine Morris. Last season, Morris became the second-highest scoring freshman in Ladies basketball history (385 points).
For the Gents, seventh-year head coach Adam Walsh and senior James Sapp talked with the conference. Last season, Sapp garnered First Team All-Conference honors for the second consecutive season. He led the SCAC with 11.3 rebounds and finished second on the team with 15.3 points per game.
Sapp averaged a double-double for the season, the only player in the SCAC to accomplish that feat.
The Ladies and Gents play an exhibition doubleheader at ULM on Friday, November 11, against ULM. The Gents are 19-14 against the Warhawks all time, but the two have not met on the court for six years. The Ladies are 1-14 against their in-state rival, but have not met on the court in six years either.
