SHREVEPORT, La. - The Centenary Gents (8-8, 2-3 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference) and Ladies (5-11, 1-4 SCAC) look to make "Change for the Better" this weekend when they welcome Southwestern Friday night (January 20, 5:30 p.m.) and Texas Lutheran Sunday afternoon (January 22, noon).
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), in conjunction with the SCAC, will engage in contest with Austin College to see who can raise more money. During the four basketball games this weekend, fans are encouraged to donate in containers available at the concession stand. SAAC representatives will also be going through the stands asking fans to donate loose change.
All eight institutions in the conference will be taking part in this event throughout the season and donate all the proceeds to a charity of that particular institution's choice. Centenary has chosen to donate the proceeds to the Special Olympics.
