Patrick Meehan is in his seventh year as Assistant Athletic Director for Strategic Communications as he joined Centenary Athletics on August 5, 2019.
Meehan supports and promotes Centenary's 20 current men's and women's athletic teams and assisted with the launch of three new sports in the 2020-2021 academic year: men's and women's cross country, men's and women's track and field, and competitive cheer and dance. He also assisted in the announcement of Centenary's return to the gridiron in November of 2021 as football returned to the school in the Fall of 2023.
"I am fortunate to be doing exactly what I have always dreamed of doing for the rest of my life and getting the opportunity to do it at a special place like Centenary College," said Meehan.
"Getting to tell the stories of our talented student-athletes on a daily basis is a rewarding experience and working on a college campus each day is special."
Meehan, a Baton Rouge native who grew up in Shreveport, has worked in or close to the athletics industry at several different levels for the past two decades, and came to Centenary from his high school alma mater, Loyola College Prep. While at LCP, he worked in alumni relations, development, and athletic department fundraising from 2016-19.
Meehan began his career in sports information at LSU-Baton Rouge, where he was a student assistant with the LSU Sports Information Department from 2000-04 and had the opportunity to work numerous major athletic events, including five NCAA baseball regionals and three super regionals, the 2002 NCAA Division I Track and Field Outdoor National Championship, and two SEC men's basketball tournaments. He also worked the 2004 NCAA Women's Basketball First & Second rounds and covered the 2004 SEC Men's Golf Championships in sea Island, Ga.
During his days as a student assistant at LSU, Meehan served as the primary contact for women's soccer, men's golf, and men's and women's swimming and diving, and was the secondary contact for baseball. After graduating from LSU in August of 2004 with a bachelor's degree in general studies, Meehan spent a year as a media relations assistant at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).
Meehan serves as the editor and writer for all content on the athletics web site and social media channels, updates and maintains record books, nominates for various academic and athletic awards, handles statistical input for various sports, and is the primary PA announcer and broadcaster for the department.
Meehan has a son, Jacob (14) who is already an avid Ladies and Gents fan and can be found at a Centenary home athletic event any chance he gets.
Brayden Reeves joined the department this past June as the Assistant Director for Strategic Communications. In this role, he oversees game day media operations, live streaming, statistical reporting, and digital content for the College's athletic programs.
A graduate of McMurry University, Reeves earned a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Communication, Kinesiology, and Multimedia. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a 3.8 GPA and was named to the 2023 Collegiate Sports Communicators Division III Men's Swimming Academic All-District Team. A four-year scholar-athlete on the War Hawks men's swimming team, he competed in the 100 freestyle (49.79), 100 butterfly (56.86), and 50 freestyle (22.83).
Reeves brings hands-on experience in athletic communications through summer internships at Texas Wesleyan University, Texas Christian University, and Arlington Baptist University. In these roles, he contributed to live stat operations, athletic website maintenance (SIDEARM and Presto), video production (Hudl/BlueFrame), social media content creation, and press release writing using platforms such as StatCrew, NCAA Live Stats, DakStats, and PrestoSports.
While at McMurry, he served as a student Sports Statistician, managing live data input and statistical analysis for more than 70 contests. His attention to detail, creativity, and consistency made him a key contributor in enhancing the school's athletic media coverage.
Reeves also applied his professional skills in media and gameday operations to assist the University of Dallas Athletics Department, further expanding his impact within collegiate athletics.
