Shreveport – The Centenary baseball and softball team have each been selected as Centenary Athletics' "Team of the Week".
The Diamond Gents and Ladies each recorded a series win over Austin College in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play, with baseball taking two of three at home and softball winning the series in Sherman, Texas.
The Diamond Gents (13-15, 8-10 SCAC) won the series opener 5-3 last Friday night and split a doubleheader on Saturday, falling 14-7 in game one and rebounding with an emphatic 18-2 run-rule win in seven innings in game two at Shehee Stadium.
Centenary is on the road this weekend to face league leader Texas Lutheran University (19-7, 14-4 SCAC) with the series beginning on Thursday with a DH at 1 PM and concluding on Friday with a single game set for 1 PM. The Bulldogs are ranked 24th nationally in the latest ABCA NCAA Division III Baseball Coaches Poll.

He also had three extra-base hits (a home run, a triple, and a double) with a .571 OBP and slugged 1.000. He had a pair of multi-hit games and hit his first homer of the season in Saturday's 18-2 run-rule win.
Senior RHP Jacob Broussard (Houston, Texas) recorded his first-career complete game in the 18-2 win as he threw a season and career-high seven innings and allowed just two earned runs and three hits.
