Morgan Dorsey Receives President’s Excellence Award
Morgan Dorsey, Assistant AD -Internal Operations, SWA and SAAC Advisor, received the President’s Excellence Award at Centenary College’s annual Founders’ Day event on Feb. 26 in Brown Chapel.
Shreveport - Morgan Dorsey, Assistant AD -Internal Operations, SWA and SAAC Advisor, received the President's Excellence Award at Centenary College's annual Founders' Day event on Feb. 26 in Brown Chapel.
This award "recognizes the superior service of an outstanding Centenary College Administrative or Staff employee and is consistent with the Outstanding Teacher Award. This is an employee who goes above and beyond their job description. The one who you can count on to assist where needed and extends that extra effort for the benefit of the Centenary community."
Dorsey was named head coach of the Centenary women's flag football team in December when it begins competition in the spring of 2027. She was head coach of the women's soccer program for six years and has been a key part of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Dorsey led the Ladies to an 8-4-0 record in her first season in 2020 which included a 4-3 mark in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play and an appearance in the SCAC Tournament quarterfinals. She coached 19 All-SCAC selections in her tenure and eight Ladies were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Team in her six seasons.
"Coach Dorsey commits to the success of Centenary student-athletes, working with each of them," said Director of Athletics and Recreation David Orr.
"Morgan displays a servant's heart and will work with all campus constituents to ensure the Centenary student-athletes are well supported. Morgan is very deserving of this recognition and I am proud of the commitment she displays. I am also extremely grateful that she will be able to expand her role from Head Coach to Assistant Athletic Director and Senior Women's Administrator. Morgan Dorsey is certainly a pacesetter and great example of the work that goes into creating a high value student-athlete experience here at Centenary."
