Football Selected as "Team of the Week"
The Centenary football team has been selected as Centenary Athletics' "Team of the Week" after the Gents raced past the Westgate Christian University Ravens by a score of 42-7 on Saturday night at Atkins Field.
Shreveport - The Centenary football team has been selected as Centenary Athletics' "Team of the Week" after the Gents raced past the Westgate Christian University Ravens by a score of 42-7 on Saturday night at Atkins Field.
The excitement and energy that a football game day brings was back on the campus as a full day of tailgating and unseasonably cool temperatures paired with a Gents win made for a great day for the Centenary community.
The Gents led 14-0 after the first quarter and 21-7 at halftime and then outscored the Ravens 21-0 in the second half to cruise to the win. Centenary ran 56 plays for 372 yards and had 18 first downs and the Gents' stingy defense limited the Ravens to just 82 total yards and 3-13 on third and fourth down.
The Gents will hit the road on Saturday to face the Millsaps College Majors at 6 PM in Jackson, Miss. and return home to face East Texas Baptist on Sept. 20 at 6 PM.
