SHREVEPORT-- The Centenary women's basketball team and head coach Steve Curtis have announced the signing of 5-foot-8 guard Megan Daniel (Houston, Texas) to a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday.
Daniel helped lead Cy-Fair High School to the Texas State Championship game last season against Rockwall High School. Cy-Fair was ranked seventh in the country according to USA Today in its final pole last season.
As a member of the varsity team all four seasons, Daniel and her teammates own a 77-3 record. She has also been named Second Team All-District 17-5A as a junior and honorable mention after her sophomore season.
"Megan is a versatile athlete who can play the perimeter, play defense and do all the things necessary to be a successful collegiate athlete," said Curtis. "She is going to be great, and I'm really glad we signed her."
Daniel is the first to sign with Centenary during the early period.
