SHREVEPORT- The Centenary women's basketball team and head coach Steve Curtis have announced the signing of 5-foot-7 Beth Alberson (Tony, Wisconsin) to a National Letter of Intent.
Alberson was a three sport athlete at Flambeau High School, participating in cross country, basketball and softball. She was a member of the state finalist team in cross country and as a senior and helped her basketball squad to their third state title in as many seasons.
On the court, Alberson scored 14 points per games as a senior and 19 during her junior season. After her senior year, she was named all-state, all-Northwest Wisconsin and was a member of the Wisconsin All-Star Team.
"We are excited Beth is joining our program," said Curtis. "She is a proven winner that led her high school to multiple state championships. In addition to being a very good player she has a knack for making her teammates better."
Alberson becomes the fifth to sign for 2008-09; she joins Tanika Johnson (Pelican, La.), Chelsea Johnson (Houston), Megan Daniel (Houston) and Natasa Draganic (Niksic, Montenegro).
