SHREVEPORT�- Michaela Berg (Logan, Kan.), a 5-foot-11 transfer from Highland (Kansas) Community College has signed a finical aid agreement to continue her collegiate career at Centenary.
Berg was sixth in the Jayhawk Conference in scoring this past season, averaging 15.9 points per game, sixth in free throw percentage (.786) and first in made 3-point field goals (2.90).
On Dec.5, she was selected NJCAA Division II Co-Player of the Week, after helping lead Highland to three straight victories. During that week she averaged 19 points per contest, pulled down 5.6 rebounds and dished off three assists.
"Michaela is an excellent three point shooter and is also very good at scoring around the basket," said head coach Steve Curtis. "Her versatility and experience should help her be a big part of our offense for the next couple of years."
After the season, Berg was selected All-NJCAA First Team, honorable mention all-conference, academic all-conference and NJCAA Academic All-America.
Berg becomes the sixth to sign for Curtis; she joins Beth Alberson (Tony, Wisc.), Tanika Johnson (Pelican, La.), Chelsea Johnson (Houston), Megan Daniel (Houston) and Natasa Draganic (Niksic, Montenegro).
