LITTLE ROCK, Ark. �- With her first collegiate goal in the 72nd minute, Centenary women's soccer freshman Jennifer Hopkins (Lafayette, La.) tied the match at one, but just over six minutes later Arkansas-Little Rock's Leanne Mihelich hit her second goal of the afternoon to give the Trojans a 2-1 victory on Sunday.
The Ladies and Trojans played to a scoreless first half tie, with Centenary getting four shots off, while UALR had seven. The second half was a different story as the Trojans had 13 shots and the Ladies were able to get just six shots off.
In goal for Centenary was senior Ali Hilsher (Tulsa, Okla.), who is now 1-1 on the season, but was able to make six saves. Between the pipes for UALR was Jane Picarelli and Jamie Laughlin, with Laughlin collecting all four saves for the Trojans.
Sophomore Brittany O'Neal (Nacogdoches, Texas) led the Ladies with two shots, while freshman Elizabeth Sweatt (Colleyville, Texas) gave her first career assist.
Centenary is now 1-1 on the season and will play again on Wednesday at Louisiana-Monroe, with a start time set for 4 p.m. The first home action for the Ladies will be on Friday, Sept. 7, against Texas State.
