RUSTON, La.- In its second spring tournament of 2008, the Centenary women's soccer team tied Louisiana-Monroe, 0-0, and fell to Louisiana Tech, 1-0, on Wednesday afternoon.
Against ULM, the Ladies had golden opportunities to put the Warhawks away, as Centenary's offense was able to attack the defense. However, sophomore Stefani Robbs and junior Tracy Apgar's shots sailed high and wide.
"We were much better in the middle on Wednesday," said head coach Chase Wooten. "The young kids also played well, but we just need to get better up front. By the end of the spring season we should have all our kinks worked out."
The Lady Techsters scored a late first half goal, which proved to be the difference, as the Ladies couldn't find their offense. Sophomore goalkeeper Kate Donnelly also played well on defense, stopping several shots.
"Again we just couldn't find our offensive rhythm," Wooten said. "Lauren Cheaney and Chelsea Cardwell were outstanding in the middle and Donnelly was almost invincible between the posts, we just couldn't get everything clicking at once."
