ELMHURST, Ill. - After consecutive shutouts on Friday and Sunday, senior goalkeeper Ali Hilsher earned The Summit League Defensive Player of Week award. Hilsher held a 2-1 record last week, made 16 saves and had a .889 save percentage.
Last week Hilsher allowed just two goals to get past her in the match against Louisiana-Monroe, and after that she was 14-of-14 on save opportunities. In the 1-0 victory over Texas State on Friday, Hilsher made a season-high 10 stops. During the 2-0 shutout over the weekend against Grambling State, the Tulsa, Okla., native had four saves all coming in the second half.
This is Hilsher's second Player of the Week award, she first received the honor back on Sept. 19, 2005. This is also the first conference weekly honor the Ladies have gotten since Stefani Robbs won Offensive Player of the Week on Aug. 28, 2006.
Centenary will be back in action on Friday at home against Northwestern State, and on Sunday the Ladies host Arkansas.
