SHREVEPORT �- Three errors by the Centenary baseball team and a four-run first inning for Harvard (2-7) lifted the Crimson to a 10-6 victory over the Gents on Friday evening in nonconference action.
After falling down 7-4 in the seventh, Centenary battled back with a three-run inning to bring the game within one. The big hit that frame came from senior Jomar Tabor, who had a two-run triple, while junior Tell Ross brought one of his two runs home with a sacrifice fly �- scoring Tabor.
The Gents (9-4) got two quick outs in the eighth, but their third error gave Harvard another life. With the extra at-bat, Taylor Meehan hit a come back just over the head of sophomore Justin Kraft, who couldn't get the ball over to first in time.
Kraft, meanwhile, took his first loss of the year after pitching 7.2 innings and allowing eight runs on 11 hits. Of those eight runs only four were earned and the Yakima, Wash., native also fanned a season-high eight batters.
The Gents and Crimson will be back in action on Saturday for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. Taking the bump for Centenary will be juniors Stephen Tromblee and Dakota Robinson.
