SHREVEPORT- The Centenary baseball team continues to show its community pride, as the Gents volunteered for the 2008 Race for a Cure. Every member of the baseball team was there to help in all aspects of the annual event.
The Race for a Cure was held last Saturday behind the St Vincent Mall in Shreveport. The Gents helped set up tents, emptied trash, unloaded trucks with supplies and helped wherever they could.
"Our guys always enjoy going out and helping at these community events," said head coach Ed McCann. "Our guys have a greater respect for the Race for a Cure and what it stands for, and you will see out here every year."
The Gents will next volunteer and participate at the ALS Walk on Oct. 18, and follow that up with Christmas at Shriners Children's Hospital.
