Battle Creek, Mich. - Brevard College rising sophomore men's golfer T.J. Hoard delivered a standout performance in the Annual City Junior Golf Championships at the Binder Park Golf Course this past week, winning the one day event by one stroke as he carded a 4-under-par 68 for the day.
Hoard took the title by one stroke as he recorded 2-under-par 34s on both the Binder Park's Marsh and Preserve nine-hole layouts to win the overall boys' championship. He finished the round with four straight birdies to offset a double-bogey on the second hole to take the championship.
The left-handed sophomore will play in one final tournament at the Calhoun County Amateur Championship which will take place on August 20-21 at Binder Park before returning to the campus of Brevard College to start the 2011-2012 season.
