BOSSIER CITY, La. - Centenary grabbed two top-15 finishes Tuesday afternoon as Jamie Gibson and Zander Winston finished 11th and 13th, respectively, at the two-round Hal Sutton Intercollegiate.
Gibson fired an opening-round 75, which was eight shots off the lead, behind UT-Tyler's Matt Stephens' 67. Stephens won the event with a three-under-par 141. Gibson followed with a second-round 74 for a 149.
Winston's first-round 73 was just six off the pace and followed with a 77, one shot shy of Winston's team best. The Gents (628) grabbed fifth out of the 10-team field. UT-Tyler (582) bested Paris Community College by seven strokes to win the tournament.
Matt Delaney posted a first-round 82 and improved by a stroke to finish with a two-round 163, three shots ahead of teammate Hank Strickler's 82-84 and five ahead of John Sidery's 83-85.
The Gents wrap up the season April 2 at the LeTourneau Invitational in Longview, Texas, next weekend.
