Badin, N.C. - Kim Koivu and Thomas Rennie remain in medalist contention, while the Tornados sit four strokes back from co-leaders Pfeiffer and Bluefield as Brevard recorded a 296 in the first round at the Pfeiffer Intercollegiate at the Badin Resort & Inn on Monday, September 19th.
Koivu leads the way for the Tornados, recording a 71, 1-over par, to sit one stroke back of leaders Cody Robertson (Limestone) and Tyson Louth (Pfeiffer).
Rennie tied for the lowest back nine score of the first day, shooting a 35 over the final holes to sit in a tie for fourth overall after carding a score of 72, 2-over par.
T.J. Hoard sits five strokes back from the leader in an eight-way tie for 15th overall in the event, recording scores of 36-39 for a first round score of 75. Michael Stamper rounded out the quartet for the Tornados, carding a 78 in the first round to sit in a tie for 35th overall.
Brevard closes out the final round of the Pfeiffer Intercollegiate tomorrow morning at the Badin Resort & Inn.
