TYLER, Texas-The Centenary men's golf team fired a +31, 315 on the par 71 course at the UT-Tyler Fall Invitational on Monday to sit in eighth place overall after its opening round.
Freshman Arni Sigurdsson making his team debut leads the way in a tie for 22nd after shooting a +6, 77 in today's round.
Classmate Jamie Gibson is just one shot back with a 78 and in a tie for 27th, while freshman Zander Winston is tied for 32nd with a 79 in his opening round. Rounding out the Gents scores for round one are freshmen Hank Strickler who is tied for 41st with an 81 and John Sidery in a tie for 69th with an 89.
Leading the team standing is NCAA Division III No. 2 ranked UT-Tyler with a +4, 288. Schreiner follows at 299, while Mary Hardin-Baylor is in third at 300.
Centenary will wrap up the tournament on Tuesday morning with one round.
