Anderson, S.C. - Michael Stamper and Kim Koivu both lead the Tornados men's golf team through the first round of the Anderson University Invitational as Brevard currently sits ninth overall in their first action in the 2011 fall season.
Stamper dropped six strokes off his front nine total, tying for the lowest back nine score of the day with a 34 as he sits tied for 11th after a first round 74. Koivu, in his first collegiate action, sits three strokes back after a 37-40 day, carding a 77 for the round.
T.J. Hoard continued his even play since last season, finishing the first round with an 81, while Thomas Rennie rounded out the group with an 85.
The final round of the Anderson University Invitational is set for tomorrow morning at Cobb's Glen Country Club, with the teams taking the course on in the early morning.
