Conover, N.C. - All 10 SAC member institutions will descend on Rock Barn Golf Course in Conover, N.C. on Monday for the first round of the 2012 Food Lion SAC Golf Championship.
Brevard College's Alice Klochkova and Thomas Rennie lead their respective teams into the field in their final tournament wearing BC colors, while 2012 SAC Men's Golf Freshman of the Year Kim Koivu looks to challenge for the individual tournament title.
Student-athletes will start in a staggered format, with half the field beginning at hole No. 1 and the other half at hole No. 10. The first tee times are slated for 8 a.m, with 36 holes scheduled to be completed on the first day.
The men will play at Rock Barn's Jones Course, while the women will compete simultaneously at the facility's Jackson Course.
Wingate enters the Championship as the No. 1 men's team in adjusted scoring average, while Carson-Newman leads the women's field.
Last year's SAC Golf Championships were captured by the Newberry men and the Carson-Newman women.
The Championship's second round will take place on Tuesday with the first tee times again set for 8 a.m. Pairings will be determined based on Monday's results.
