Greeneville, Tenn. - Thomas Rennie tied for the lowest back nine of the first round of the Tusculum Fall Classic at the Link Hills Country Club on Monday morning and sits in medal contention as the Tornados are eighth overall after the first day's events.
Rennie is currently tied for fifth overall with a first round score of 70, leading the Tornados to a first round total of 295 as Coach David Nelson's top four took on the field.
Michael Stamper sits three strokes back in a tie for 18th overall, recording scores of 35 and 38 to finish the round with a 73, while Kim Koivu is one stroke behind, carding rounds of 36 and 38 to sit tied for 28th overall.
T.J. Hoard rounds out the Brevard foursome, dropping four strokes off his front nine score to finish with a first round 78, tying for 57th overall after the first day's events.
The Tornados conclude the two day Tusculum Fall Classic tomorrow morning in Greeneville, Tenn.
