The Ladies (8-15) managed to put up six hits against the Ladyjacks (14-8) as senior Allison Shepperd led the way with a 2x4 effort and a run scored. Sophomore Kalyn Harris (1x2, R, RBI) belted her first home run of the season, while juniors Caitlin Cavarra (1x3), Bonnie Matak (1x3) and sophomore Katie Matthews (1x3, RBI) each had a hit.
Junior Sara Dornelas (4.1,7,4,4,1,2) started and suffered the loss after tossing 4.1 innings, allowing four runs on seven hits with two strikeouts.
SFA took the early lead, 1-0, in the first inning when Kendal Harper tripled and scored on a wild pitch. Centenary would respond with a run of its own in the bottom half when Shepperd doubled with two outs. She was plated on an RBI-double down the left field line by Matthews.
The Ladyjacks went up 2-1 in the second when Ashley Struchtemeyer homered. Though, again, the Ladies would bounce back and tie the game on Harris' first home run of the season.
SFA would continue to build on its lead, plating four runs over the fourth and fifth frames on four hits and a Centenary error as the Ladyjacks pitching staff held the Ladies scoreless the remainder of the contest.
Junior Lauren Highsmith (0.0,0,3,2,2,0) and sophomore Reggie Salvatore (2.2,2,0,0,0,1) also saw action on the mound for Centenary.
Angela White (3.2,2,0,0,1,3) picked up the win for SFA after pitching 3.2 innings of relied, allowing no runs on two hits with three strikeouts.
Struchtemeyer, Harper, and Brittany Caruthers all had two hits for the Ladyjacks.
Centenary will travel to IPFW for a three-game Summit League series beginning on Friday at 2:00 pm CT.
