LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Centenary athletics placed seven student-athletes on the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference's 2013 Spring All-Sportsmanship team.
Tyler Clakley (baseball), Jamie Gibson (men's golf), Rachel Grinnell (women's golf), Garrett Wick (men's lacrosse), Nicole Warren (softball), Adam Ghaemmaghami (men's tennis) and Anna D'Angelo (women's tennis) represented Centenary as part of the 39 student-athletes named to the team.
The SCAC places a special emphasis on sportsmanship each year, but this year, the conference went a step further. Prior to the 2012-13 academic year, the league developed and introduced a new sportsmanship-themed campaign, "Cheer Hard, Play Harder, Respect Everyone," and created PSAs and videos that were distributed throughout the conference.
These pieces have been played during conference-produced video-streamed championship activities throughout the 2012-13 academic year and even promoted nationally through the NCAA Division III Twitter account and Facebook page.
