Golf Teams Set To Host Annual Hal Sutton Invitational
The Centenary men's and women's golf teams will play host to their annual home tournament, the Hal Sutton Invitational, on Monday and Tuesday at The Golf Club at Stonebridge.
Bossier City – The Centenary men's and women's golf teams will play host to their annual home tournament, the Hal Sutton Invitational, on Monday and Tuesday at The Golf Club at Stonebridge.
The men's and women's field will play 18 holes on Monday beginning at 9 AM and the final 18 on Tuesday for a total of 36 holes. Tuesday's final round is set for 8:30 AM with an awards ceremony afterward. The men will be challenged by a par 72, 6,851-yard layout and the women will be tested by a par-72, 5,814-yard course. The Gents finished fourth in last year's event and the Ladies finished third.

The men's field is comprised of the host Gents, Belhaven University, Hendrix College, Lyon College, Mississippi University for Women (MUW), Central College (Iowa), Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Jacksonville College, and Louisiana Christian University.
The women's field includes the host Ladies, Mississippi College, Texas Lutheran University, Central College (Iowa), Lyon, MUW, and Jacksonville College.
GENTS' LAST TIME OUT:
The Gents shot a 96-over par 936 to finish in 11th place on March 10 at the Fabric Solutions and Technologies Crossing Creeks Invitational hosted by LeTourneau University at Crossing Creeks Country Club in Longview, Texas.
Junior Aubrey Snell (Shreveport, La.) was the Gents' top finisher as he shot a 7-over par 217 to finish seventh. Snell was tied for 25th place after the first round in which he shot a 9-over par 149 (76-73) but fired up the leaderboard on the final day after a 2-under 68 – his lowest round of the season. The top 10 finish was Snell's third of the season.
Senior Jeffrey Borchert (Katy, Texas) recorded Centenary's second-best finish as he shot a 28-over par 238 to finish in 56th place. Borchert shot a 27-over 167 (83-84) in round one and was excellent in the final round as he fired a 1-over par 71 – his lowest round of the season.
Freshman Mason Wiener (Holland, Pa.) tied for 57th place at 29-over par 239 (81-76-82), and freshman Trey Bishop (Oklahoma City, Okla.) finished in 63rd place (+34 -244) after rounds of 77-82-85). Senior Colton Mayer (Heath, Texas) finished 77th (+51 – 261) after rounds of 88-90-83 and senior Parker Christensen (Castle Rock, Colo.) finished in a tie for 81st place at 72-over par 282 (88-95-99).
LADIES' LAST TIME OUT:
The Ladies shot a 213-over par 789 to finish eighth in the Crusader Cup hosted by the University of Dallas on Feb. 24.
The Ladies, who shot a 112-over par 400 in the opening round, lowered their score by 11 strokes the next day as they shot a 101-over 389 in the final round.
Sophomore Haylee Crowder (Haughton, La.) led the Ladies with a tie for 13th place (90-88 – 178) and sophomore Amber Shaw (Hughes Springs, Texas) tied for 18th place (90-91 – 181). Junior Jordyn Templeton (Columbus, Texas) tied for 25th (95-95 –190) and freshman Zoe Garcia (Magnolia, Texas) finished 45th in her season debut (125-115 – 240).
Crowder now owns eight top-20 finishes in her career while Shaw has four. Templeton has a trio of top-25 finishes over the last two seasons. The rookie Garcia, who also stars on the Ladies' volleyball team, lowered her score 10 strokes from round one to round two.
