Ladies Set To Face Texas Lutheran At Home On Tuesday
The Centenary women's basketball team will face the Texas Lutheran University Bulldogs in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference game on Tuesday evening set for 7 PM inside the Gold Dome.

The Ladies (3-15, 2-7 SCAC) and Bulldogs (13-5, 8-1 SCAC) are meeting 10 days later than expected after their original contest scheduled for Jan. 24 was postponed and rescheduled due to weather. Centenary lost twice at home this past weekend, 66-41 to Austin College on Friday and 65-59 to the University of Dallas on Saturday. Texas Lutheran went 1-1 at home last weekend, beating the University of St. Thomas 85-76 and falling 62-50 to Colorado College. Centenary is 1-7 at home this season while TLU is 5-3 on the road. The Ladies have not beaten the Bulldogs since the 2017-18 season.
Ladies' Season Individual Statistical Leaders:
Scoring: Senior G Amiyah Barrow (Baton Rouge, La.) – 9.5 PPG
Rebounding: Senior F Kyra Stokes (Shreveport, La.) – 6.7 RPG
Assists: Sophomore G Julissa Cabrera (Denham Springs, La.) and Barrow – 1.6/game each
Blocks: Stokes – 0.8/game
Steals: Cabrera – 1.4/game
The Ladies average 50.4 PPG, shoot 32.5 % from the floor, 26.2 % from 3-point range, and 64.9 % from the free-throw line while averaging 35.1 rebounds/game, 9.2 assists/game, 11.2 steals/game, and 2.6 blocks/game.
Barrow averaged 10.5 PPG against Austin College and Dallas and also grabbed nine rebounds, tallied six assists, and had three steals and a blocked shot while averaging 35.5 minutes/game. Her 12 points against the 'Roos on Friday marked her ninth double-digit scoring performance of the season.
Stokes had 10 points and six rebounds against the 'Roos and then had six points and a season-high 15 boards against the Crusaders while Cabrera had a solid game against Dallas with nine points, four assists, and three rebounds. Junior F Natalya Senat (Killeen, Texas) had nine points and 10 rebounds against Dallas and freshman F Emily Cortez (Thibodaux, La.) had seven points and two boards against the Crusaders. Senior F Layla Powell (Fort Worth, Texas) had seven points against Austin College and eight versus Dallas.
The Ladies are currently tied for fourth in the SCAC's Blue Division with LeTourneau University while the Bulldogs are in second place in the conference's Gold Division.
Centenary was picked to finish 12th in the SCAC preseason poll while TLU, the defending conference champion, was predicted to win the league. The top six teams in the conference (top three in each division) will qualify for the SCAC Women's Basketball Tournament, which will be held February 27 through March 1 and hosted by Hendrix College in Conway, Ark. The winner of that event will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
