Brevard, N.C.- The BC volleyball team lost in straight sets to the Newberry College Wolves in Boshamer Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.
Newberry outlasted the Tornados despite a valient effort, taking the sets 17-25, 19-25, 22-25. Samantha Parrish led the charge for the Wolves, contributing 12 kills at a .286 hitting percentage while picking up 11 digs.
Kortney Conner led BC in both kills and digs, chipping in 16 and 15, respectively. Kayla Hanus filled the stat sheet for the Tornados with 34 set assists and nine digs.
The loss puts the Tornados at 6-1 on the season, and 1-1 in South Atlantic Conference play.
BC is back in action on Friday, September 21st against the Catawba College Indians at 6:30 p.m.
