Brevard, N.C.- The Brevard College volleyball team downed the University of Virginia's College at Wise 3-1 in Boshamer Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.
Megan Clark led the way for BC, turning in a team-high 12 kills at a scorching .750 hitting percentage. Clark was followed closely by freshman teammate Fatima Gharachorloo, who pitched in 11 kills at a .588 hitting percentage.
The Tornados hit .406 as a team, with the help of 41 set assists from Kayla Hanus. The junior was also credited with four service aces and a pair of block assists in the Tornados final nonconference game of the season.
India Dillard delivered a match-high 19 kills for the Cavaliers while also posting 10 digs.
The Tornados have now won three of their last five matches as they head into the final weeks of the 2012 season. The Tornados have six conference games remaining as they push for a spot in the South Atlantic Conference Championship tournament, which will be held in Boshamer Gymnasium from November 16th-18th.
The Tornados return to South Atlantic Conference action as they host the Wingate Bulldogs in Boshamer Gymnasium on Tuesday, October 30th at 7 p.m. The Cavaliers close out their 2012 regular season on Tuesday at Shawnee State University at 7 p.m.
