Brevard, N.C- The Tornados dropped their match to the Lincoln-Memorial Railsplitters in straight sets on Saturday afternoon, 27-25, 25-15, 25-14, despite Kortney Conner turning in a match-high 13 kills.
The Tornados dropped a heartbreaker in the first set, rallying from being down by as many as eight points to tie the set at 22-22. After the next several points went back and forth, BC and LMU found themselves tied at 25-25. The Railsplitters won consecutive points and the exhausting match.
Conner, who led all players with 13 kills, had eight kills in the initial match. The Tornados, however, never really recovered from the defeat and lost the next two sets.
The Tornados meet Montreat in non-conference action on Wednesday, October 3rd at 6 p.m.
