GEORGETOWN, Texas - Centenary's bid to snap its 12-match losing streak and start Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play with a win came up short Friday night as the Ladies dropped a 3-0 contest to the University of Dallas. Centenary falls to 0-13 (0-1 SCAC) on the year while Dallas improves to 8-5 (1-0).
The Ladies wrap up weekend play Saturday with consecutive contests No. 16 Colorado College and No. 25 Southwestern. Freshman hitter Sarah Irons paved the way offensively for Centenary in the loss (25-15, 25-18, 25-14) with a .400 hitting mark. She posted five kills with a single error in 10 attempts. Rachel Perkins and Brooke Bahlinger joined Irons with five kills.
Sarah Sumner topped the Ladies kills tally with seven, but had four errors in 16 attempts (.188). Junior setter Beth Nuttall posted 12 assists while senior libero Jesi Wilcox collected a team-best 17 digs.
